At the end of April 2023, the Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance project delivery partners for the WIRES funded Grey Headed Flying Fox project met at the Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare office for a year 2 planning session. Representatives from Coffs Harbour Council, Coffs Harbour & Districts Aboriginal Land Council, Coffs Harbour Regional Landcare and Bellingen Landcare attended the session.
Jaliigirr Biodiversity Alliance is undertaking habitat rehabilitation at key breeding sites and winter foraging habitat in the Bellingen and Coffs Harbour LGA’s. This initiative aims to secure vital coastal winter food sources and rehabilitate and expand breeding and roosting habitat at maternal (and nationally significant) camps across both LGA’s. Year 2 will see 6000 feed/roost and habitat trees planted for Grey Head Flying Foxes.
